Jury Duty fees and reimbursement of travel. Do I put this in my tax return? – BBQ Talk 35

I received a cheque from Jury Duty for fees and reimbursement of travel. Do I have to put this in my tax return?

Ans (Toni from Affinitas)

The amount received for the fees is included in your assessable income when doing your tax return.

The allowance received however for travel or meal allowances will not be included in assessable income. There would therefore also be no deduction for travel or meals.
